I have been at a new job but same profession with no gap for about 4 months making 60K. My fiancee is self employed making roughly half my income and has been self employed for 2 years. I know that to qualify for a mortgage in canada a self employed person needs to be working for atleast 3 years. Will the fact that I make considerably more than her help us out or basically is the mortgage qualification pending on me? I am not self employed, just my fiancee. You can also talk to said farm and see if they will keep her as a broodmare. right. I got my pony trained and broken in last june in a riding school. She was there for four weeks and was with other horses. At the end me june i brought her home. About 3 weeks ago I purchased a 12 yr. old registered miniature mare from a local farm. They told me they had purchased her as a bred mare but she never foaled so they assumed she was not pregnant. They guesses they have owned her her close to a year. Today the farrier came ut and was trimming her feet, when he was done he asked if she was pregnant. I told him no but it got me to thinking. I went online and read up on some symptoms. I can feel a thick waxy like substance on her teats but she is not bagging up. I read though that if they are on pasture, which she is, that they sometimes won't? Also when wboughtht her her stomach was very round and it has moved to where she looks thinner but Im not sure. She has been urinating all the time as well. The vet is supposed to call me back tomorrow but I was wondering if there were any tests that checked for late term pregnancies? I had a dream last night that I gave birth to a beautiful child while I was in college by my fiancee. The baby was half asian and half white, which is expected. My mare plants her feet and refuses to go forward?

I have a 13 year old mare that I have owned since she was 5. She was green broke when I got her, so I worked with her and an instructor to teach her training level dressage. She really did well. She is the type horse that needs to be worked 4-5 times per week. After a couple of years, I put a western saddle on her and we rode miles of trails together for the next couple of years. Then another mare had a foal and she seemed to get jealous. It really changed her. The foal would call out to her when we went to leave the property and she began refusing to leave the property. Around the same time, I got a job where I traveled a great deal and could not devote 5 rides a week to her. When I would ride her, she would fight me leaving the property as though she was barn sour. i am an experienced rider, I know how to cue her to move forward, but she refused. If I tapped her with the crop, she still would not move. If I turned her to move her feet, she would back up and then abruptly stop. Very frustrating!!! But eventually, something would "click" in her mind and she would take off at a trot and we would have a great ride. Then, last year, another foal was born and she got jealous again. She bonds to those babies! I could not get her to leave the property with me on her back. I would then take her to the equestrian park, lunge her and then mount; the fight would start all over. Today, I took her to the park and she planted her feet and simply refused. There was another rider there that was willing to ride with us, but that meant nothing to her. I put spurs on and she did work out in the arena, but the minute we left the arena and headed for home, she refused to move forward again. I tried and tried. I should note that I was riding her bareback with a rope halter. She has been very responsive bareback in the past and I can ride her at any gait with either a bridle or a halter. I am so very frustrated and I really believe that there is some tie to the foals, what do you think? I love this mare (She is a maiden mare) but I am beyond frustrated with her at this point. How Do I Get My Mare Used To The Hose?

I had the same problem with my Arab mare. For her it was mostly the noise from the hose, and having it touch her scared her. I had to start with taking a pitcher of water and poor it on her legs to get her used to the wetness, then turning the hose on very slowly, like not making much noise and just running it on over her feet then up her leg helped. Eventually she was able to handle it! With some horses its the coldness of the water from the hose. Maybe heating the water up a little bit, where its still cold but not freezing might help. Congratulation her after she lets it touch her helps a lot as well. Don't start with putting the hose to her backside first. Make sure you put the hose up in front of her first to where she can see it. Hope I helped! =) Good luck!

Help! My 4 week old donkey has just stopped nursing. Why? What can we do?

My 4 week old donkey was nursing just fine right from birth until just today we noticed she seemed very tired, lazy, and we haven't seen her nursing at all. We tried to bring her to the mother's udder to nurse but she isn't interested. We also tried milking the mother to bottle feed the foal. The foal would drink a little but again, was not very interested. Any idea what might be happening? Why would the foal not be hungry? Could it be parasites or another disease? If they want to watch your baby they should provide a non-smoking environment if that is what you request. the foals father died before she was born? i did not know my mare was pregnant when i got her and the foal has one of two stallions. i had a problem with horse boarding and ended up moving them an hour away for full board but then i discovered the lady caring for them was doing what she wanted with them. she ended up putting my two stallions together and the one killed the other. needless to say she has no contacts with my horses anymore, but i couldn't find any way to prossicute her. i owned both stallions but they were going to be gelded so i dont know anything about registering this foal.

I am a medical transcriptionist and I am testing for an at home position. Where I currently work, we have permission to change around sentence order, etc. so that information goes under the correct headings, and doesn't have to be verbatim as the doctor dictates. Why does my mare still look & act pregnant?

I almost died and my brother did not even call me?

I was recently hospitalized and had emergency surgery which saved my life. My younger brother did not pick up the phone to text or call me nor did he visit.His fiancee even visited me several times. I was talking to my mom and said, that I was hurt that he did not even send a text to see if I was alright nor did he respond to the text that I sent him. well iv posted a few questions on here already about these horses. The owner is being a real jerk to us. I found out he owns a large Business in they are really expensive and make a good profit. Well the Tornado hit April 27th and all his horses got loose. We have been trying to catch them for the past week. The sheriff has tried and a whole bunch of other people im the only one who has caught any. They are possibly sick from pesticides on the corn Field they are in and they are very skinny. One will have her foal any day now. The owner came off at first as being really nice when he came to see the first horse i was able to catch. But he called the horse a gelding and it was really a mare. I Said um... no i think its a mare? He put up quite an argument that both the flea bitten grays were geldings and brothers. I said no im looking at her right now one is a mare the other one is the gelding. Well he asked how were you able to catch her? I said i had a bucket of grain and she came right up. He said iv never fed my horses grain. I said well she is under weight why don't you? He said she doesn't need it he also said he doesn't feed hay, Trim there feet or worm them. I said well horses need all of these he said they don't. well when I caught 2 more horses he refused to come help me. And he also refused to tell me the name of his Business i don't think he wanted me to know he had enough money to take care of these horses and to hire some one to catch them for him. well they got away because i didn't have enough help. These horses feet rae so terrible i don't think any of them have been trimmed in several years if at all. One bay mare has a hoof split all the way up to the band and they are very long. The older horses are in very bad shape. They have never been lead around or broke to halter or trailer. We are reporting the owner because he stated he doesn't properly feed these horses or give them vet and farrier care. He also left them out in the open on another mans property and government state property for the past 41 days knowing he could have payed some one to professionally get these horses. Do you think these are good enough reasons to report this man? i don't think he is responsible enough to take care of these horses. The mare has had no care and is about to drop a foal in the middle of a corn field with pesticides all over it and he hasn't even came buy to help us catch them. I had to wait until my friend got home to use the phone. she came home about 2 hours later. when she came home I immediatly used her phone and called Henrico county lockup. But when I called the lady who answered phone told me that there was nobody named Lamont Gamble there so then I tried calling Henrico county jail.They also said there was noone there named Lamont Gamble. So I tried calling Richmond city lockup and Richmond city jail. Both places told me that there was no Lamont Gamble. I don't know where my fiancee is. I don't know where else he could be. Breeding and West Nile Shot?

Since we've decided to breed my mare next spring, I can't stop thinking about the pitter patter of little hooves! We're not solid on the specific stallion, but we are leaning towards two Holstiener stallions as we would like to move away from the thoroughbred sport horse, to a TB cross sport horse type. I've trained several of them and they are absolutely wonderful animals; so much talent. How close is she to foaling? You could consider switching to shavings until she's close. Shavings shouldn't be used because it gets caught in the foal's nose and can suffocate it. If you're really desperate, as long as her pasture is clean, dry, and grassy, you could let her foal there. I prefer stall though, since it's easier to monitor and keep clean.

Really worried????!!!?

Ok so as everyone has probably heard there is a out break of EHV in Washington (probably other places to). All of the barns in the state are in lock down as is WSU. Im really worried because a friend of mine had her horse up at WSU (that is where it pretty much started) for breeding. That horse has since been at my barn where my horse is several times a week for lessons (the breeding was unsucsessful so they have kept training). Today there were 3 confirmed cases of EHV in my town. So we are on lock down at the barn no horses come in or go out but how else can I help my horse not to get it? He is older he is healthy but Im worried if he gets he might not be strong enough to pull through. And the foal it is only 4 days old. And what are signs of it?

Me and my fiancee had sex mostly everyday when i was ovulating and since then I have been getting cramps, needing to go to the bathroom more, Headaches, Nausea and dull ache in the lower back. I was due on my period on 6th June which was late and the about 3days after the 6th I got a brown discharge with a few light pink spots in it too which lasted 3days. I've been having that problem too, & I'm only 22 weeks. My friend asked her doctor about her sickness & he gave her some medicine (although I don't know what kind) to help her & she says it works well. Your fiancee's doctor might be able to prescribe her something but I'm not sure it's completely preventable. Just another joy of pregnancy for some people! Maybe she could adjust her diet & try eating crackers, ginger ale, and bland foods that are less likely to get her sick. Hope it gets better because that sucks!

What you are talking about doing is putting good money in stud fees, mare care for more than a year then feeding this foal for 2 years before you can start working it, sending it to a trainer who is going to charge you a minimum of $3000 to break and train the colt or filly before you can ride it, then you will have a horse that you have about $8000 in that is worth $200. do the math, buy a 2 year old and send it to be trained and you will still have a $200 horse but will only have $3000 in it.

You don't need to get close to the horse to tell, you just have to look between his back legs. Even at a distance you can't really miss them. They are, for lack of more polite wording, really big balls. Also if he is a stallion you can always request an abortion shot from your vet. My friend, who owns a stallion (and likely shouldn't, but it isn't my problem) keeps him Ina pasture. However mares escape regularly to see him, so if it is a mare who she does not want pregnant she is given an abortion shot. I had a dream of chasing two horses I would like an interpretation of it.?

So i had this dream that there was a small tan minature horse with a halter and saddle i spotted in my front yard grazing on some grass and it caught my attention and I was petting it and randomly it took off running into my back yard where I chased it. Then In my backyard along with the small horse It lead me to another horse but it was a young foal, however this was a different species of horse same color same pattern however it wasn't a minature horse just a young tan colored foal. And I captured them in my huge back yard where they stayed. Anyone know what it means?

Do you have any experience with fresians? What would you do with the foal? Personally when it comes to buying in utero foals, I don't think everyday people should. It's a big risk and it's easier for people who deal with lots of horses all the time. If you have a good plan for this foal when it grows up (like showing), and are willing to accept the risks, and are used to dealing with lots of horses on a regular basis then go for it. If not, I would probably pass.
