How Do I Get My Mare Used To The Hose?

I had the same problem with my Arab mare. For her it was mostly the noise from the hose, and having it touch her scared her. I had to start with taking a pitcher of water and poor it on her legs to get her used to the wetness, then turning the hose on very slowly, like not making much noise and just running it on over her feet then up her leg helped. Eventually she was able to handle it! With some horses its the coldness of the water from the hose. Maybe heating the water up a little bit, where its still cold but not freezing might help. Congratulation her after she lets it touch her helps a lot as well. Don't start with putting the hose to her backside first. Make sure you put the hose up in front of her first to where she can see it. Hope I helped! =) Good luck!
