What do you think of having dates as chapter headings in novels?

Sounds like a good idea to me. If the time really goes back and forth all that often, seems necessary. And it definitely wouldn't annoy me if it didn't go in chronological order. That just makes it more interesting. It's like, "Ooohhh, so this chapter will be about something that happened to So-And-So when he was a little kid! The anticipation to understand is killing meeee!" And then you read on because the past is ever so interesting.
