Medical Transcription question, formatting and arrangement of notes?

I am a medical transcriptionist and I am testing for an at home position. Where I currently work, we have permission to change around sentence order, etc. so that information goes under the correct headings, and doesn't have to be verbatim as the doctor dictates. However, when testing I am supposed to follow AAMT Guidelines..does this kind of editing follow those guidelines? I can't find anything in The Book of Style about this. Serious answers only please.
