Any idea why I'd be getting this particular Adobe Reader 7 error?

Like someone else said, you need to get the latest version of the Adobe PDF reader. Also, it seems like the person that created the file didn't properly embed the fonts in the PDF or didn't check to make sure that the PDF was created properly.
